i love my skoot as well but i'm trying not to expect too much as far as quality design, workmanship, components, service, etc. for the price i paid for it (or even new off the dealer floor). it's an economy purchase and pretty much viewed as a mongrel/starter bike in comparison to every other model in suzuki's line (the bigger sellers). guess the old adage is true - you get what you pay for. i'll run it as long as i can and then look for something 'better' down the road i reckon.
